I’ve reported from five continents, with news and features published online, in papers, glossy and specialist magazines and my award-winning travel blog.
In St Petersburg, Russia, I syndicated travel content. My favourite was the story of Nikolai Vasin, a Beatles fan who turned his home into a shrine to John Lennon. I also covered how Queen Elizabeth II evoked echoes of a bygone era, as she brought royal grandeur back to Russia’s imperial capital during her historic visit, more recently depicted in The Crown. Somehow, I got a job for Aeroflot, sub-editing English-language in-flight brochures.
I’ve continued to contribute to various publications – from my experience on a raucous friends’ holiday in Corfu for Chat and memories of Butlins in Prima, to regular travel news reporting and a developing cruise specialism.
As well as Cruise international, my features have appeared in Flight Centre and Viking Cruises’ Explore magazine.
I launched the popular website Have a Lovely Time which picked up various accolades.
Media that have turned to me as a family travel expert or source to quote include The Times and the BBC.

I know it’s off the beaten track but there are some things I definitely didn’t expect to be doing on an Amazon river cruise. Yet here I am, fishing for piranhas, feeling a bite at the raw beef bait attached to my wire on a stick.
My husband Neil and I loved to travel. It was our shared passion and during our life together we were wowed by many places.
